Kicking Off The Weekend

Hi Everybody. It is a true saying that there is no pain without gain. After going through the pain and stress of the busy working week that was, Friday is almost here. The gain is that the weekend is almost upon us. What a nice feeling that is. The pain of the Alarm Clock and the boss, will be replaced by good things, such as having the freedom to do whatever you choose. I’d love it if you’d like to kick off your weekend, with me, Brian D, On Friday at 7 PM in Ireland and the UK, that’s 2 PM Eastern. I’ll have two hours of feel good music, blended with plenty of friendly Banter to get your weekend off on the right track.

All our regular features will be here for you to enjoy, and participate in if you’d like too:
• Kick-Start. The track that sets the pace for the weekend ahead. I’ll have a Little Something, from 1995 to get us going.
• The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. You’ll hear 3 versions of the same song, performed by 3 artists. You are welcome to tell me which is Good, Bad or Ugly. Proud Mary has been covered by many artists down through the years. Which three will I play.?
• Weekend Rewind. Taking you back to good things that you did in times gone by. How many of us listen to the Radio at work? My guess is lots of us do, including me. Are there any songs which remind you of good times at work? Maybe chatting about them over a Coffee with your Work Colleagues, or songs that when you hear them, make you work that little bit faster and harder. Music does get us through the day. I’d like to hear your suggestions of songs that remind you of having fun at work, or songs that make you work that bit faster when they come on the Radio, if you’d like to share them.
• The One That Got Away. A track that is not often heard on Radio. The Irish Movie the Commitments was built around one of the hardest working bands inDublin. They played covers of Soul Classics. From a list of over one thousand songs, it was whittled down to 24. One that made it, was a track that was initially covered by The Marvelettes in 1968.

If you’d like to be in touch with me before, or during the show, you are most welcome too. To request a tune that makes you feel good, to participate in any of our features or simply to say hi, it’s very easy. You can:
