Here at Team-FM we pride ourselves on the variety of music we play. You can hear songs from the past ninety years of recorded music, from folk to funk, jazz to jive, from the dance tunes of the 1930's to the dance tune that was released two days ago. But recently we've been thinking about the kind of music we hear when we watch some of our favourite movies. When do we hear that on Team-FM? Usually only once a year. All that is about to change!.

The magical music of the animated movie has universal appeal. It has everything: hopes, dreams, comedy, tragedy, heroes, villains, cute animals, scary monsters, wicked witches, comedic wizards, beautiful princesses, handsome princes and so much more. coming very soon, Lulu Hartgen will take you on A Magic Carpet Ride through a glittering dreamscape of movie music for the young and the young at heart.

So what might you expect to hear? Yes, there will be lots of Disney, after all, Walt Disney was the pioneer of the full length animated feature film, and the Disney magic is as strong today as it was back in the 1930's, but there is so much more! Everything from Trolls, South Park and Transformers to An American Tale, Oliver and Company and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs!

If you love the sweet voices of Disney princes and princesses you'll get plenty of those, but you can also hear first class singers like Billy Joel, Nick Jonas, Ne-Yo, Bebe Rexha, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift and many more. And one more thing: animated movies sometimes become live action movies, so we'll sometimes stretch a point and include numbers from live action or even broadway show soundtracks which were inspired by animated movies.

So when, you may ask, can we take this magic carpet ride? That's easy. Starting from January 9, you can take it each and every Saturday at 5 PM, right here on Team-FM. It will be a great time to gather with your family, or even on your own, put on that awesome prince Ali cloak and feathered turban, that turquoise glittery Princesss Jasmine outfit, or maybe even just a pair of glass slippers, step aboard the magic carpet, wish upon a star and remember always to dream!
