The Weekend Is Always Welcome
Hi everyone. While I would welcome the Weekend at any time, it only comes around once a week. That time is every Friday, at 7 PM in Ireland and the UK, or 3 PM Eastern, as we wait for those American clocks to fall back in line with Ireland and the UK. That’s the time when we can close the shutters on the week that was, and open the Window to the Weekend that lies ahead of us. Two hours of feel good music, mixed with friendly banter is what you need to kick-start your Weekend, which is exactly what I have on offer for you.
All our regular features will be here for you to participate in if you’d like too:
• Kick-Start. The track that sets the pace for the Weekend ahead. We’ll begin with an upbeat tune released in 2013, by a Swedish Synth Pop Duo, that will put us on the right track.
• The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Three versions of the same song, performed by 3 artists. You are welcome to tell me which is Good, Bad or Ugly, if you’d like too. Three very different versions of a well-known pop tune, down for decision in this one.
• Weekend Rewind. Taking you back to good things that you did in times gone by. In 1991, I left the shelter of the classroom in School, and stepped into the big world of University. A transition from limitation to freedom. I’ll share some of my memories with you, and play tunes from this year that reminds me of this time.
• The One That Got Away. A track that is not often heard on Radio. Victoria Beckham was the last member of the Spice Girls to release a solo album in 2001. We’ll hear a track from her one and only album released to date, and also appears on the soundtrack to the movie Bend It Like Beckham.
