Enjoy the Music of the 60's and 70's with Our Time!
Hi everyone
Our Time is our show which celebrates the music of the 60's and 70's with an occasional look back to the 50's too when momentous anniversaries take place.
Our Time is always a good time as we remember these golden decades and includes:
The A to Z of the 70's. Telling you about songs beginning with a particular letter and playing them too.
Lots of songs from the 60's and 70's including mini themes. This week we play six of the best songs recorded at Abbey Road Studios!
That was the week that was. Looking at the past week's musical events from years gone by.
It should have been a bigger hit. A song which did not chart particularly high (or at all) in Britain but is absolutely outstanding.
And, and, the Our Time Show Stopper. The Team-FM Top Tune of its day. If we had been around in the 60's and 70's, what would we have had as a top tune of the week? I'll always end with one which is awesome. Suggestions for the perfect 60's and 70's song to end on would be welcome!
This time we go back to 1976!
very soon in our time we'll be starting a new feature called the long player. albums from the 60's and 70's are being streamed in huge quantities. For example, Abbey Road by the Beatles is the most streamed 60's album clocking in at 500 million. So these albums from our two favourite decades have endured beyond measure.
so what we're going to do every so often is to take a good look at these albums, listen to some of the tracks, tell you about them, and play some of the studio outtakes, studio chatter and alternative versions of some of the songs so you can hear how they came to be the tracks that people love today.
We'll also talk about albums which have been remastered recently, and to that end, you can visit our website at www.team-fm.com/click and the high quality music will begin to play.
Alternatively, you can download the playlist located there for the high quality stream to hear it using your favourite media player.
In that way, you can appreciate everything these tracks have to offer, get inside the music with me and enjoy!
We'll start off with a bang, we'll begin with Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys. We'll then do ABBA's Arrival and Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. Those are the first three. But do let me know if you have favourite albums from the 60’s and 70’s!
You can hear the show each Sunday at 5 PM as part of Retro Day, following Chuck Taylor's Greatest Hits USA!
Remember that Our Time is always a good time!
