Your Guide to the Holidays!
Well, it's nearly here, Santa will soon be on his way, and the 107 hours of Team-FM holiday programmes are about to begin! That's 12 more hours than last year! Whether you are wrapping presents, out with family and friends, or particularly if you are on your own during the festivities, why not drop into Team-FM for some company and hear some great entertainment. From shows filled with nostalgia, through to those presented by well-known celebrities and current mainstream radio personalities, we hope you'll enjoy our Christmas and New Year lineup!
This year's theme is Christmas with the Stars. We hope you listen to Team-FM because of it's great hand-picked music together with knowledgeable and friendly presenters. But we know you also come to learn about the music of the past and present. So this year, you'll hear a lot about the songs you know well, and we even have stars hosting some of the shows too.
There's no shortage of shows to check out this holiday time with festive tunes, the latest hits and oldies. In particular, there are three eight-hour extravaganzas for you to enjoy and a six-hour Christmas Eve special!
All times for the programmes below are for the UK, however throughout the holiday you'll see these displayed in the Schedule on our website in the time zone of your choosing.

Saturday 22 December.
4 PM to 7 PM: Airplay40 Christmas Chart. Each week, Spencer James counts down the top 40 most played songs on radio stations all around the world. What will be in the Christmas chart this year and who will be number 1!
7 PM to 9 PM: The Music Machine Crazy Christmas with Brian Hartgen. The perfect lively show to spread some Christmas cheer, Brian will be along with plenty of festive favourites and lots of features including a special Christmas musical Treasure Hunt, Golden Years, the Vinyl Countdown and much more! We can tell you it's going to be a great one this year!
9 PM to 11 PM: A Merry Disney Princess Christmas with Brian and Lulu. Another chance to live in the magic of Disney in this popular annual Christmas show originally broadcast in 2017.
Not all Princesses are to be found in castles. Sometimes you find them in tiny cottages, or even in Canoes! They may not always look, or even sound like Princesses! But they're all just that little bit special. Brian and Lulu can't wait to tell you about them and play you the songs from the movies!
Sunday 23 December.
9 AM to 10 AM: The Time Machine Extra Festive. Travel back in time to the 60's and 70's in our Time Machine with plenty of festive favourites!
10 AM to 12 PM: Festive Sunday Gold. Whether you're having a lie-in, reading the papers or getting ready to go out, start your Sunday with two hours of solid golden oldies from the 50's and 60's. Plenty of Christmas songs are all there from your favourite artists of the decades!.
12 PM to 1 PM: The Christmas Class Act. An entire 60 minutes devoted to the artists and groups who have been at the top of their game to reach the Christmas Number 1! Everyone from Cliff Richard to the Pet Shop Boys and from East 17 through to Jackie Wilson.
1 PM to 3 PM: Guilty Pleasures Christmas with Alan Nicklin. They say there are music tracks which you shouldn't like but you do. There are also those songs you need to turn up loud! Christmas songs are no exception. Join alan Nicklin as he plays some of the best and he'll tell you about them too.
3 PM to 4 PM: The Carpenters' Career. Richard and Karen Carpenter talk about their music career, including the stresses of touring, promotion and recording. They also discuss their love of music as it was in 1974.
4 PM to 5 PM: An 80's Express Christmas with Lulu Hartgen. Travel back to the days when Christmases were really special. Imagine unwrapping a Synclaire ZX81 computer with its massive 1K of memory! Or maybe you had an Atari video game? The TV and music was great too, and what about those wicked films? Mix up the 80's Christmas classics, add some festive commercials, sprinkle in some of those memorable Christmas movies, and Lulu will serve it all up for you in this 80's fest!
5 PM to 7 PM: An Our Time Christmas with Brian Hartgen. In our show which celebrates the 60's and 70's, each week we talk a lot about the artists and groups of the day. James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, the Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Gilbert O'Sullivan and many many more. They all recorded Christmas songs. Join Brian to hear those lesser known tracks and the Christmas classics you remember from the 60's and 70's.
7 PM to 9 PM: David Hamilton's Festive Million Sellers. Well-known broadcaster David Hamilton plays Christmas songs which sold a million on both sides of the atlantic.
9 PM to 11 PM: Vinyl Days At Christmas with Alec Nicol. A lot of us used to buy records for Christmas didn't we? Maybe you received them as gifts? Alec plays some of the best festive favourites which you may have got from the 60's to the 90's.
11 PM to 12 AM: The Christmas Class Act. An entire 60 minutes devoted to the artists and groups who have been at the top of their game to reach the Christmas Number 1!
Monday 24 December: Christmas Eve.
9 AM to 12 PM: Airsleigh40 with Spencer James. Hear the top 40 Christmas songs which have been voted for by listeners to hundreds of English-speaking radio stations around the world! Could your favourite be number 1?
12 PM to 6 PM: The Team-FM Musical Christmas Box. Have you ever had a box of chocolates so huge and luxurious that you didn't know which one to eat first? Here's the musical equivalent! Join Brian Hartgen, Brian D and Lulu Hartgen for six fantastic hours of some of the best Christmas songs ever recorded. With friendly chat, and 100 songs, they'll keep you entertained as you get ready for the big day.
6 PM to 7 PM: The Chart to End All Charts - 1973. one of the most memorable chart countdowns in britain was in 1973, as both slade and wizard were fighting each other for that all important christmas number 1. hear how the battle played out as we hear some vintage radio with tom brown counting down the top 20.
7 PM to 9 PM: Documentary - Charting the Charts with Brian Hartgen. In this special documentary produced for Team-FM, Brian tells the story of the top 20 and top 40, but not from the perspective of the music. Through his narration, archive clips and music, he'll tell you the story of the people who presented the chart on radio in the UK.
9 PM to 12 AM: Faye Tozer Steps into Christmas. She can dance, sing and do anything. Faye Tozer was part of one of the biggest bands of the 90's, Steps. You can hear faye as she chooses some of the songs that mean a lot to her at christmas time.
Tuesday 25 December: Christmas Day.
10 AM to 6 PM: Brian and Lulu's Christmas Party! Yes that's right. Join Brian and Lulu for the ultimate Christmas party. For eight fantastic hours, they'll have music to get you through the day, party guests, food, drink, presents, crackers, and plenty of chat. They promise each hour will contain something fresh and different, so it's sure to be a show not to be missed!
Do you remember they partied for eight hours in 2016 and 2017? Well they've cleared away lots of floor space in their home to let the crowds in for a third time. After all, there's no party like a Team-FM party right? Fresh, new and exciting, the music will be better this year they say, different drinks, better crackers, better jokes? We think you'd should decide about that. Let us know and join in the new talking points in each hour!
6 PM to 7 PM: The Voulez-Vous Interview. Do you remember the excitement when ABBA released their new album Voulez-Vous in 1979? The four members of the group talk about the songs on the album and how they came to be recorded.
7 PM to 9 PM: Christmas For Everett. He was a DJ, television entertainer, singer, technician and a genius! While sadly Kenny is no longer with us, he is always remembered at Christmas time. On what would have been his 74th birthday, revel in the festive fun as Kenny takes to the microphone in extracts from some special Christmas shows. Kenny is at his best on Christmas Day so you'll definitely want to tune in for this one!
9 PM to 11 PM: A Merry Disney Christmas. Join Brian and Lulu once again as we hear Disney classics from the very old to the newest. The magic of Disney is the perfect way to round off your Christmas day as with Disney, all your dreams come true.
Wednesday 26 December: Boxing Day.
2 PM to 4 PM: Queen: These are the Days of Our Lives. With the release of the movie Bohemian Rhapsody this year, it's a good chance to hear the true story of the amazing group queen. Through a series of revealing interviews with all of the band members, together with singles and album tracks, hear about their beginnings through to their rise to fame. Part 1, we will rock you, focuses on the 1970's.
4 PM to 7 PM: The Neil Diamond Story. He was a singer, a songwriter, and an artist who has sold over 100 million records making him one of the most successful musicians of all time. Celebrating over 50 years in the music business, Neil talks frankly about his life and career in this fascinating documentary.
7 PM to 9 PM: Now That's What I Call 100 with Brian Hartgen. This year saw the launch of the 100th volume of an epic compilation album series. Brian Hartgen chronicles the Now That's What I Call Music story, through music and the artists talking about what it means to them.
Thursday 27 December.
2 PM to 10 PM: The All Time 100 Legends with Claire Sturgess. In the second of our eight-hour spectaculars, Claire Sturgess, (an extremely popular and well-known radio personality and voice artist), celebrates 100 of the most iconic artists and bands. Not only will she be playing some of the very best songs, but she'll also chat to some of the biggest names along the way, and we do mean the biggest names. People like Bryan Adams , Rihanna , Katy Perry , Tom Jones, Celine Dion, Leona Lewis and so many more.
Friday 28 December.
2 PM to 4 PM: A Touch of Class with Brian Hartgen. Every Sunday, we celebrate the groups and artists who have had a long and successful musical career in "The Class Act"; those who have always been at the top of their game. But now, we choose the best of the best! Brian will play some of the outstanding music from those artists we've chosen as "The Class Act" and he'll tell you why they have been so successful.
4 PM to 7 PM: Airplay40 Chart of the Year with Spencer James. Spencer counts down the most played songs during 2018 on radio stations all around the world. Who has really made it this year and who will be the leader of the pack?
7 PM to 9 PM: Welcome to the Weekend Review of the Year with Brian D. Brian D celebrates the best music from this year. he'll tell you about the most successful artists as only he can, and he'll remember some of the team-fm top tunes too!
Saturday 29 December.
2 PM to 4 PM: Queen: These are the Days of Our Lives. With the release of the movie Bohemian Rhapsody this year, it's a good chance to hear the true story of the amazing group queen. Through a series of revealing interviews with all of the band members, together with singles and album tracks, hear about their beginnings through to their rise to fame. Part 2, A Kind of Magic, focuses on the 1980's through to 1992 following the death of Freddy Mercury.
4 PM to 7 PM: The Police Story. Some of the most innovative music in the 70's and 80's came from another british band, Police. Hear their story, and about lead singer Sting's solo career, in this informative documentary.
7 PM to 9 PM: "I Want to Tell You a Story" with Brian Hartgen. Brian plays some of the best songs which tell stories, both old and new.
Sunday 30 December.
2 PM to 3 PM: David Hamilton talks with David Cassidy. What David Hamilton doesn't know about music from the past isn't worth knowing. So he's the ideal person to talk to the stars who made it happen. He talks to another david, 70's icon david cassidy about those memorable days.
3 PM to 4 PM: Roger Taylor's All Time Favourite Songs. As we're celebrating the magic of the band Queen this holiday time, Roger Taylor from the group chooses some of his all time favourite songs.
4 PM to 5 PM: The 80's Express Party with Lulu Hartgen. Some of the best songs for a party came from the decade of decadence, the 1980's. Board the 80's Express for a non-stop mix of some of the best of them.
5 PM to 7 PM: The Other Top of the Pops with Brian Hartgen. Hear from some of the stars who made the music in the decade which brought us groups such as the Hollies, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Freddy and the Dreamers and many more in a special show.
7 PM to 9 PM: David Hamilton's Celebrity Million Sellers. Each week, David talks about the bands and artists who sold a million on both sides of the Atlantic. Now the tables are turned and the stars tell him about them.
Monday 31 December: New Year's Eve.
2 PM to 6 PM: The 70's Express with Brian and Lulu. Do you love your music of the 1970's? If you do, you'll want to take your seats on the 70's Express. brian and lulu will be there for four solid hours, playing the songs you remember, reliving the movies, hearing the commercials and sharing their memories from the decade which brought you everything from novelty to disco.
6 PM to 2 AM: Pat Sharp's New Year's Mix. We couldn't end the year without a really fabulous New Year's Eve party! If you need someone to host your New Year's Eve celebrations, Pat Sharp is the man to do it. It's the ultimate party to take you into 2019, expertly mixed with the biggest and best feelgood hits. we’ll even have the Big Ben chimes at midnight to take you into the New Year! No breaks, no jingles, just a non-stop party at our place. You'll have a great night. So turn it up loud! Rather be anywhere else? Don't think so!
Tuesday 1 January 2019: New Year's Day.
2 PM to 4 PM: The Madonna Story. we learn about a lady who began making dance tunes in the 80's and ended up as a megastar, singer, actress and film director.
4 PM to 5 PM: David Hamilton talks to Cliff Richard. David interviews a man who began his music career back in the 50's and who was still releasing new albums in 2018. Sir Cliff really is a superstar!
5 PM to 7 PM: ABBA Star Special. the abba group members are not the artists but the dj's instead. they choose some of their favourite songs from the 1970's which were at the time their personal favourites.
7 PM to 9 PM: Junior Choice Special with Brian and Lulu. This Team-FM tradition now in its seventh year celebrates a much-loved children's radio show from the 60's to the 80's. This show features songs, archive recordings and very special memories. It's presented by two people who avidly listened to the show every week from the early 70's onward so they know their subject!
