It's the Weekend, we're Jamming
Hi everyone. On Friday at 7PM in Ireland and the UK, 2PM Eastern, it will be time for me, Brian D to Welcome you to the Weekend, and close the week that’s just gone by. I’ll lift the weight of that stress off your shoulders, and replace it with 2 hours of feel good music, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. I can’t think of a better reason to get together with you and celebrate the 2 days of freedom that lie ahead.
Our regular features will be here, such as:
• Kick-start. The track that sets the pace for the Weekend ahead. We’ll hear a track released by a Jamaican artist in 1977. In Jamaica, its title, refers to a group of people getting together for a celebration. I have a special reason for doing that this Weekend.
• The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. This is where we hear three versions of the same song by three different artists. I invite you to tell me which one is Good, Bad or Ugly, if you’d like too.
• Weekend Rewind. Taking you back to good things that you did in times gone by, through memories and music. Birthdays are all about good times, and bring back good memories. Maybe of a gift you got, a place you went too or something special you did on a particular birthday. Is there any particular song that stands out for you around the time of your birthday? This will be the subject of our Weekend Rewind. As usual, I’ll play some of mine and share my memories, and invite you to do the same if you’d like too.
• Team Fm Top Tune of the Week. A large number of Singles are released weekly. However, to carry the honour of being the Team Fm Top Tune of the Week, it has to be top notch, it must be better than the rest. Just before it comes on, you’ll be advised to crank the volume way up because it’s so good. Our choice for this week, will be revealed at some point during the show, but I can’t say exactly when.
