Welcome To The Weekend, Let It Shine
Hi everyone. I’d love it if you would allow me, Brian D, to close out your Week and Welcome you to the Weekend, tomorrow at 7PM in Ireland and the UK, or 2PM Eastern. No matter what your plans are, or what the weather is doing outside, I’ll have 2 hours of the hottest feel good music, mixed with warm and friendly banter, that will make you shine. I promise to rid you from the stress of the busy week that was, and put a pep in your step for the Weekend ahead.
Our regular features will be here too, such as:
• Kick-start. The track that sets the pace for the Weekend ahead. We’ll hear a tune from a band who came back for good in 2006, and had a number 1 Single a year later in 2007.
• The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. This is where we hear three versions of the same song by three different artists. I invite you to tell me which one is Good, Bad or Ugly, if you’d like too.
• Weekend Rewind. Taking you back to good things that you did in times gone by, through memories and music. When I was young, the area that I lived was thronged with Spanish students, coming to learn English during the Summer. They brought a feel good vibe about the place, and many families would host them in their homes. As a result of this and other factors like the Packaged Holiday, some songs have become very popular here that contain elements of other languages. When I hear these tunes, they remind me of good times when the Spanish were in town, or Packaged Holidays I took. We’ll hear some of these tracks in our Weekend Rewind, and as usual if you have any suggestions of songs that contain other languages that were popular, feel free to share them with me.
• Team Fm Top Tune of the Week. A large number of Singles are released weekly. However, to carry the honour of being the Team Fm Top Tune of the Week, it has to be top notch, it must be better than the rest. Just before it comes on, you’ll be advised to crank the volume way up because it’s so good. Our choice for this week, will be revealed at some point during the show when you’ll hear it for the first time on Team Fm.
