Shake Off The Shackles, Let The Weekend Begin
Hi everyone. Now that the working week is almost at a close, I’d like to praise you for getting through it. On Friday at 7PM in Ireland and the UK, 2PM Eastern, it will be time to shake off the shackles that go with the stresses of work, and allow me, Brian D to Welcome you to the Weekend. I’ll free your mind and recharge your Battery, with 2 hours of feel good music, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The perfect Tonic to get you on track for the Weekend ahead.
Our regular features will be here too, such as:
• Kick-start. The track that sets the pace for the Weekend ahead. We’ll begin with a tune released in 1999, that could be described as an Earworm, and will set us up nicely.
• The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. This is where we hear three versions of the same song by three different artists. I invite you to tell me which one is Good, Bad or Ugly, if you’d like too.
• Weekend Rewind. Taking you back to good things that you did in times gone by, through memories and music. Many songs stick in our head for various reasons. How many do you remember because of the Video that was attached to them. Do you hear a song and think, I remember that Video? It was awesome. In Ireland where the show is broadcast from, a Video Music show ran between 1984 to 1987. It played the hits of the day as well as their Videos, every Sunday on Irish Television. Not Strictly related to this timeframe, I’ll play songs that remind me of the Video that was produced for them, and invite you to do the same if you like.
• Team Fm Top Tune of the Week. A large number of Singles are released weekly. However, to carry the honour of being the Team Fm Top Tune of the Week, it has to be top notch, it must be better than the rest. Just before it comes on, you’ll be advised to crank the volume way up because it’s so good. Our choice for this week, will be revealed at some point during the show when you’ll hear it for the first time on Team Fm.
